Homecoming 2013

As years go by, change is inevitable.  Tradition is the continuation of certain practices and ritual over time, but even what is traditional has a tendencey to change for one reason or another.  For example, the EPHS fight song used to be sung with all of it's verses, but by the time the Class of 1966 came to EPHS as 8th Graders the practice had changed such that the last two verses were all that was known and sung.

In the 1960's live Pom Pom Mums were the vogue for homecoming coursages.  Well, not only have homecoming mums changed over the decades, other things have changed in the observance of homecoming at EPHS even though the basic ritual of "home coming" remains.

In this gallery you'll see some of the differences in how homecoming is practiced today by comparison to memories you may have for homecoming while a student.  Be assured, EPHS's unique fight song is still played by the band and sung after each Tiger score during the Homecoming Game; as has been the practice for nearly a century, we "give a rousing rah! rah! rah! for old El Paso High!"
