Congratulations to Cynthia Marquez

On October 28, 2017 she was inducted into the National Education Hall of Fame for the state of New Mexico at the Annual State Convention which was held in Santa Fe.

2017 Theme was "Reflections of a Great Leader"
She was selected for her numerous achievements in the field of education which included supervising staff development and teacher mentor programs, advocate for children's rights, collective bargaining, tutorial services for students/parents, early education programs for migrant workers, dual/bilingual programs AND 34 years as classroom teacher. During those years, she received awards for being a "highly effective teacher" and for creation and implantation of innovative curriculums.

During those 34 years, Cynthia worked for Fabens and El Paso Independent School Districts as well as with the Department of Defense in the United Kingdom.

Although currently retired, Cynthia remains active in her field by writing and supervising grants for the state of New Mexico -- NEA.

In her acceptance speech she gave THANKS to ALL the children who made her career possible and most importantly to the Lord.
