BARBARA BLACKWELL 1948 - 2017. Barbara Ann Boyles Blackwell, 69, born in Lockhart, TX, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2017 in El Paso, TX. Barbara graduated from El Paso High School in 1966. She was a proud Tiger and enjoyed serving on her class reunion committee. After high school, Barbara attended UTEP where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. She made lifelong friendships with many of her sorority sisters and she remained active with the local alumnae chapter. After completing her bachelors and masters degrees, Barbara began a long and fulfilling teaching career. She took her first teaching position at Hart Elementary in 1970 and then spent the majority of her years as a kindergarten teacher at Lamar Elementary. After retiring from EPISD, Barbara finished out her career as a kindergarten teacher at Santa Teresa Elementary. Over the course of 44 years, the impact she made on the lives of her students is immeasurable. Barbara loved life and had the most wonderful friends to share it with. She looked forward to any opportunity to spend time with the girls. As a daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, Barbara always put family first. She adored her son and daughter-in-law, and was so proud of her four granddaughters. While they didn't get nearly enough time with her on this earth, her influence lives on in their hearts. Barbara is survived by her son Corbin (Natalie), sister Mary Kay Daniels (Farley), niece Monica Brown (Gerry), nephew Tyler Daniels (Amanda), and granddaughters Fiona, Emory, Bennett, and Vivian. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Ray and Mary Boyles, and long-time love Robert Dunbar. A Memorial Service, officiated by Rev.
