Rick Clark was a great friend, a military brother and a patron for fairness. After high school we traveled around Texas and New Mexico, working odd jobs, living the good life all the while trying to keep the turbulance of the 60s at bay.  In 1967 we both joined the Army under the "buddy system"  Truly a ploy to get boomers to join the Army.  By day two of indoctrination he headed to Kansas and I to Ft. Bliss.  After basic training Rick Clark headed to Germany to Military Intelligence High Speed Intercepter School and I to Military Intelligence/Counter Intelligence school in Ft. Holabird, Md. After a tour of duty in German, Rick Clark volunteered for a tour in Vietnam.  He returned to El Paso, was engaged in contract computer work at Ft. Bliss and eventually operated Lloyd's bar on north Mesa until his death in 2011. Rest well my brother, my friend, and we will all celebrate on the other side.
