David Lobo Guerrero passed away during a surgical procedure at a hospital in El Paso on Thursday, 12 June 2025. David had been residing with is daughter, Kelly Dellingham, her husband and children in Alamogordo, NM, as a result of a toe amputation several years prior while on a visit to the Dellinghams. David had been residing in the Seattle, WA, vicinity since the 1970s when David's service in the US Navy concluded.
The amputation of a toe soon lead to Diabetes caused complications which lead to additional amputation and his condition prevented David from returning to his home near Puget Sound. During a stay in a rehabilitation hospital near El Paso High, David's femur broke while undergoing a Physical Therapy session. In the years following, David maintained a very positive attitude despite persistant pain, occasional hospitalizations, twice weekly trips from Alamogordo to El Paso for wound care, and repeated lab specimens. Much of David's routine care was eventually transferred to the VA Healthcare Clinic in Alamogodo, but recently some complications arose which necessitated hospitalization and multiple surgical procedures. It was during one such procedure that David's heart finally gave in.
David's wishes were to be cremated and his ashes to be spread in the Puget Sound area to mingle with the ashes of his beloved deceased wife.
