Stuart Scott once said, "When you die, that does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live." On Monday, June 20th, 2016, Doris Chacon Valdovinos was reunited with her Father and Lord. She was the epitome of love. A true humanist, she was very humble, grateful, and found the good in everyone. Though she suffered her fair share of heartache, she carried on with a grace, and an immeasurable love for life. She is survived by her husband Carlos, her two sons Matthew and Carlos Jr., daughter Michelle and her eight grandchildren. She was an amazing mother, wife, sister, cousin, aunt. She was loved by so many who were lucky enough to be touched by her life. She loved her garden, but hated to see anything die. Instead of flowers, an act of kindness for someone who needs it would mean so much more to her. Services will be held at Westside Community Church at 201 E. Sunset, this Friday, June 24, 2016 at 5pm. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
